My good friend and neighbor has the same camera as I do, and for Christmas she just bought herself a new 50mm f1.8 prime lens! Let the good times begin! She will have so much fun with that lens. It takes a while to learn all the stuff you can do with it, but she will have fun discovering it all. Especially those low light wrestling and football pics!
The way this lens can capture images without using flash, and the way it can throw the background completely out of focus is awesome! Its a must-have lens for anyone with a DSLR :)
If your blessed with good wealth, might I suggest the f1.4 instead!!!
